PAINTING GEORGE (A LARGE SCALE WATERCOLOUR OF AN ANIMAL

In this watercolour workshop, I will guide you through how to paint a large (scaled up) animal portrait in watercolour using gridding in the initial stages in order to get an accurately proportioned end result without having to learn major drawing skills. To demonstrate I use a photo of my favourite furry boy, George, my chocolate labrador. You can also paint George along with me, (he would be flattered!) or you can choose a photo of your own pet or favourite animal to grid up and paint. You can even apply the method to human portraits. WATERY DOGS

This easy to do and fun workshop takes you through the wonderful process of learning how to paint 'loosely' in watercolour but to create the illusion of dogs that make sense. You can choose any animal as your subject. I love them all but because I am known for painting woofers, I used them! We also paint other animals and do some very creative exercises in the workshop. There are nine modules, and it is designed for you to be able to pick it up and put it down if you have a busy life. Suitable for beginners or 'painters'.

Expressive Flowers

This has clearly been my most popular workshop of all. We will be using an expressive method to create a lovely vibrant painting of a vase of flowers. By following along with my process you will learn how to take a relaxed approach to your painting ideas, and give yourself plenty of room to change your mind all the way through. Good for any level of experience! This is about learning to paint LOOSE. There is a very sound underlying process in this workshop despite it looking casual and loose.

Three Paintings Fast

In this workshop which is suitable for ANY stage of experience from absolute beginner to fabulously genius painter extraordinaire - the intention is to work fairly fast and loose as we creat three paintings all at once!

Maybe you have always wanted an excuse to just go a bit nuts and paint like a mad thing rather than getting stuck in every single brush stroke, fearing it is 'the wrong one'. Well this is the workshop where you can cut loose and just do it.

It's all about not getting stuck in too much self judgment. The idea is to move from one painting to the next before the painting is completed so that you can stop yourself from losing sight of the bigger picture and the feeling of each painting. We have a little break from painting one painting before its finished and move onto another one, so we are refreshed when we return again. It's a bit like musical chairs! This is a great method for not getting too attached to one work. How easy is it to go down the rabbit hole of obsession over one painting, pecking away at it for hours to no avail or even for it to become worse!
