Returns
DAMAGE - If you receive your artwork and it is damaged or flawed, in order for us to replace it - you will need to provide immediate photographic evidence of the damage via photos sent to us on email. This must be done within 2 days of you having received the artwork. We will then discuss with you how to return the damaged artwork so that you can receive a replacement, not a refund.RETURNING ARTWORK - the event that your purchase does not meet your expectations, you may return it within seven days of receiving the order. We will issue you a full refund or credit on the purchase price of the art, but you will be liable for the return shipping. You will be responsible for insuring the artwork and if there is any damage, you will be responsible for paying for the repair or replacement of the artwork if the work is not insured to cover its full value.

Lay-bys
The Lay-by option comes up when you get to the check out. You select it and it takes you to a new page as shown below in our sample.
We use a third-party Lay-by system which goes through PayPal. The maximum time to complete paying off your items is 2 months, although you can pay it off in 1 month. The minimum deposit is 30% of your total order including shipping.
The program will lay out a payment schedule for you with dates of due payments. If you have any issues please contact us for further information.

Terms and Conditions for Art Workshops
Cancellation and Refund Policy
Helen Norton Art reserves the right to amend any class or schedule. In such circumstances, we will endeavour to provide a substitute of equal standing. Should a course or workshop be cancelled due to insufficient enrolments, any student enrolled in that class will be contacted and an alternative class, credit or refund arranged.
Please choose carefully as fees are non-refundable if the classes are going ahead.
Refunds of course fees will only be given if the course is cancelled. Full payment must be made prior to commencement of the course. Helen Norton Art cannot accept responsibility for changes to students' personal circumstances that prevent attendance. Workshop Days or Classes missed are the student’s responsibility and are non-refundable. Students are not entitled to a discount or ‘make-up’ class if they miss a class in any course they are enrolled in.
Cancellation of enrolment
If you choose to withdraw from a course or workshop within 10 days of its commencement, you will be charged 50% of the class fee. Your place was reserved for you and we will not have enough time to find another student to replace you at such short notice therefore your place will remain empty at our cost. You may transfer the remaining value (half of the value of the class fee paid) to another class for yourself or student, to be used within 12 months of the date payment was received.
NO credit transfers if you withdraw or cancel 24 hours or less before the workshop. NO refunds transfers or credits once the class has commenced. Fees are non-refundable unless negotiated for an extended illness. There are no transfers, refunds or catch up sessions if you miss a class because your personal circumstances change.
Payment of fees
Class fees are listed with the course details on our website. Payment of the full class fee via online credit card payment is required at the time of enrolment to secure your place. We accept PayPal, Visa and Master Card.
If you do not wish to enroll via the web, please contact us by email and alternative payment methods can be arranged. We accept Visa or Master Card, online direct deposits into our bank account, cash and cheques. Fees are inclusive of GST and tax receipts will be provided on receipt of payment.
Gift Certificates
Helen Norton Art has not created a Gift Certificate Program at this time, please call to discuss.
Art Materials
Many of Helen Nortons workshops have an option for you to have all materials supplied. You will have that option to choose at purchase. Materials lists for classes are included in the class information on the website.
Course Recognition
Helen Norton Art is not a Registered Training Organisation and as such, courses are not accredited. However, Helen Norton Art will strive to deliver excellence in art education. A Record of Attendance can be provided by request on completion of a course or workshop.
Helen Norton Art Marketing
From time to time we take photos or videos during the class of students and artworks. These photos are used for Helen Norton Art promotional purposes such as press advertising, brochures, social media, editorials, and website. These photos will never be sold and will be used exclusively by and for Helen Norton Art Lessons. As a Condition of Enrolment, your consent is implied. Should you not wish for us to take and use photos of you or your artwork please notify us in writing.
Student conduct
Helen Norton Art Studio is a shared space and we expect students to respect fellow artists, artwork and property. Discrimination on the grounds of a person’s age, race sex, gender, sexuality, marital status, physical or intellectual disability, or religion will not be tolerated. Any inappropriate or disruptive behaviour may result in removal from the class. In this instance refund of any course fees will be forfeited.
It should also be noted that cleaning of your class art space and common areas is a shared responsibility.
Punctuality
Out of respect for other students, students are requested to be punctual for workshops and classes. If you plan to arrive after the course or workshop has commenced, please provide a courtesy call or text to the phone number on our website.
Privacy
Contact information you supply to Helen Norton Art will not be disclosed to anyone without your express consent, except where required by law. We do not retain any credit card information that you may provide. Helen Norton Art will from time-to-time send mail and email to students and past students for the purpose of marketing. Should you not wish to receive mailings from Helen Norton Art please notify us that you wish to unsubscribe and you will be removed from our mailing list may email you information on future courses. You can unsubscribe from these if you wish.
Helen Norton Art Lessons – Student Policy
Expectations of students
Students are to arrive on time for courses and workshops. Preferably arrive 10 minutes early to set up the working space.
Students are responsible to have their working area clean and tidy. All tools are to be cleaned and returned to their respective areas by the end of class unless instructed otherwise.
Students must notify Helen Norton Art of changes to personal details.
Students must wear or bring appropriate attire suitable for painting classes. You may get paint on your clothes, be prepared. Painting aprons are available.
Students are not to hinder other student’s ability to listen and learn during classes.
Any student who disrupts classes or are abusive, threatening or violent will be asked to leave and may result in removal from the course. In this instance refund of any course fees will be forfeited.
Mobile phones are to be turned to silent during all classes. Please restrict calls to breaks.
It is the student’s responsibility to collect their own artwork. Any art uncollected after a few months will be discarded unless special arrangements are made with Helen Norton Art.
When using all materials and equipment provided by Helen Norton Art, students are required to observe and follow the instructions available relating to cleaning, handling and storing.
Sometimes, due to unforeseen circumstances, a class may be canceled unexpectantly. Students are advised to check their telephone messages before coming to class. Any canceled class by Helen Norton Art will be rescheduled.
Students unable to attend a class should advise Helen Norton Art by phone or email.
Work Health and Safety Policy
Helen Norton Art is committed to the active promotion of Work Health and Safety for all tutors and students.
Tutors and Students are responsible for their own health, safety, and welfare. Students are asked to be mindful of other students regarding their health and safety within the studio environment.
Students should report unsafe conditions, faulty equipment and accidents to the Workshop Teacher or Tutor immediately.
Students should abide by safe practices and comply with health and safety regulation.
Valuables
Helen Norton Art accepts no responsibility for the loss or damage to any personal items or art materials belonging to students.
Student Work
Helen Norton Art accepts no responsibility for the loss or damage to student work left in the studio. Students are encouraged to take their work home when finished unless required for the next class.
Pricing
All prices on this site are in Australian dollars and are subject to change. Prices include GST (if any) unless otherwise marked. An invoice/receipt will be issued on successful enrolment or purchase.
